Dinosaur Jr. - You're Living All Over Me

Dinosaur Jr., now in FLAC! Yes, using the powers of Megaupload I am now able to upload FLAC albums, but it takes ages so don't expect me to upload a lot of them. If this breaks or the link goes dead or whatever I'll take it down and upload a V0 version.

Six Organs of Admittance - Dark Noontide (2002)

Six Organs of Admittance - Dark Noontide

One of my favourite albums ever. The first track is beautiful, it's amazing. I know I sound like a pretentious hipster and I know that a majority of his fan base are hipsters but I don't care at all, this is great.

The Goslings - Full Hunter's Moon (2006)

The Goslings - Full Hunter's Moon

Really really heavy drone stuff. Great to listen to if you just wanna space out or whatever. It's a husband/wife band too, so that's lovely.

Topaz Rags - Tarot Harem (2008)

Topaz Rags - Tarot Harem

I love not not fun. Hands down the best label going around today. Anyway Topaz Rags are just amazing, especially this release. I mean sure California Ash is great (I can post it if you want), but it just doesn't compare to Tarot Harem. I love this 7".

Sun Araw - Leaves Like These (2009)

Sun Araw - Leaves Like These

Now I've been getting into drone a lot lately and I've become a bit of a Sun Araw fanboy. Really really good stuff. Leaves Like These is I think his newest release. 30 seconds in I knew I was going to enjoy this. Like really enjoy this.

The Residents - The Commercial Album (1980)

The Residents - The Commercial Album

One of my all time favourite albums. If you don't like the Residents you have no taste in music. For real. Probably their most well known album, but who cares. This is amazing.

Lilypad - Imaginary Softwoods (2008)

Lilypad - Imaginary Softwoods

Now I'm not sure if this is supposed to be tagged as just Imaginary Softwoods or did he release it under Lilypad? I don't know. Don't really care to be honest. It's drone but not. I guess you could say it has psychedelic influences. Just listen to the music. All the tracks are untitled for the much wanted obscure effect.

Lucio Capece & Mika Vainio - Trahnie (2009)

Part 1 Part 2

It's drone but it's also noise and free jazz. I'm not sure what the genre is but what I do know is that this is spectacular. I really like this. Again, not my upload because my Mac sucks.

LSD and the Search for God - LSD and the Search for God (2007)

LSD and the Search for God - LSD and the Search for God

This is really something else. Really beautiful shoegaze mixed with noise rock. Magic music. I'm relatively new to this band but I will be looping this a lot. They've only released one EP which is the one I'm posting, it's a shame really. I need more.

Flux Information Sciences - Private/Public (2001)

Flux Information Sciences - Private/Public

No wave revival I guess you could call this. VERY similar to bands of the no wave scene in the early 80s. Think early Swans and DNA. I couldn't upload this myself because my Mac sucks so I stole the link off A Special Plan For This World. Please forgive me.

Mos Def - Black on Both Sides (1999)

Mos Def - Black on Both Sides

I've always loved hip hop but Mos Def never really struck me as anything other than ordinary up until a couple of days ago. Black on Both Sides is now my favourite hip hop album at the moment. I like his voice a lot, not to mention the lyrics on this album are so great. Same with the beats. I love this album

Swans - Filth (1983)

Swans - Filth

Swans are a band that everyone should listen to. Everyone, I don't care what era either it's all (arguably) good. Anyway, people usually associate Swans with their later more accessible albums such as the Great Annihilator and even Children of God, but when I think of Swans I think of their early heavier albums such as Filth and Cop. Filth is without a doubt one of the heaviest albums ever made. It is, in fact, a masterpiece.

ENOUGH PRETENTIOUSNESS.

Bone Awl - Meaningless Leaning Mess (2007)

Bone Awl - Meaningless Leaning Mess

Bone Awl make black metal for skinny hardcore kids but they do make great music. Raw, powerful and hardcore influenced, sounds good to me. I have a couple of their EP's so I'll post them later. This will have to do for now.

NERVE CITY. - Bars. (2008)

NERVE CITY. - Bars

One man weird lo-fi experimental pop band. It's worth a shot.

Tracklist:
1. Bars
2. Over It

Bob Drake - The Skull Mailbox and Other Horrors (2001)

Bob Drake - The Skull Mailbox and Other Horrors

Bob Drake is a great musician. His brand of very experimental folk is some of the best stuff I've heard. His work is criminally underrated which is a shame really, I'd take this over any of the new so called freak folk bands anyday.

Monday

The Man I Fell in Love With - Dis Yourself (1997)

The Man I Fell in Love With - Dis Yourself

The Man I Fell in Love With is a band that hopefully most of you people wouldn't know of. They were a shoegaze type band coming up through the early emo scene in Kent, Ohio. Emo influenced too obviously I guess but it's a great combination. Great spacey album that anyone with an interest in emo, shoegaze or 90s alternative should look into. Features members of the Party of Helicopters if that helps at all.

Anyone in Cincinnati?

If so check out Cult Ritual play with Order 66, Vile Gash and Wasteland Jazz Unit at the Bunk Spot on the 22nd of June. All killer bands and all should put on a great show. And here's some download links for good measure.

Cult Ritual - 1st EP
Cult Ritual - 2nd EP
Cult Ritual - 3rd EP

3rd EP was recorded a couple of weeks after the 2nd EP. Class. Not my download links by the way, head over the Cult Ritual's blog for lurking purposes/more downloads. Cult Ritual's blog.

Order 66 - Demo I and II

It's fast and it's hardcore.

Vile Gash - Demo II

Spotted it on a few blogs. Oh well it's still great.

Wasteland Jazz Unit - Solar Static Coves

Weird noise jazz type stuff, but it still rules.

END.
